Introducing The REVIGOR Moment
(If on homepage click through to the blog page and see slide show of moments in DC)
Now you can remember moments from your life and add a splash of fab to any outfit with The REVIGOR Moment.
Its a pin, its a texture, a moment for your lapel, your hat, your bag - your anything.
Mark, JakeEddie and I had an epic trip with my mom for the 4th in DC full of amazing moments.
National Zoo (several times), West Wing, underground at Library of Congress where JakeEddie had a private one on one with the Children’s Books Librarian, to the top of the Capitol Dome, up front and center at the 4th of July concert - through many museums and a pick up game of hoops in Adams Morgan - boom!
What a trip.
Thank you Mama for making every moment fabulous!
And watch out DC, REVIGOR is coming back in the Fall for a fabulous event!

Yesterday my fabulous mother, Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, announced her plans to retire at the end of her 10th term of congress, at the age of 75.

I am just saying - my mama is looking good in her REVIGOR Wrapity Wrap Tunic made from a beautiful silk outfit she wore to my brother Micheal’s (standing to her left) wedding about 10 years ago.
Here is a look at the top in its original design.

My mom’s dear friend and colleague Congresswoman Barbara Lee was with us to honor and support her friend on this major occasion.

Congresswoman Lee and I share a passion for kitty prints, me in my new REVIGOR Wraptiy Wrap Dress made from two $10 dresses from Ross.

Three REVIGOR client/models and my dear dear sister-friends - Debra, Lisa and Sally - were there to witness and share with me the ending of a progressive and fabulous era.
Mother’s Day is May 8, 2011
Honor the mothers in your life by giving a gift like no other … the gift of her story and the stories of those she loves … to wear proudly and lovingly.

Rebecca is wearing her Scarf Nouvelle created from 3 shirts worn by her two beautiful boys when they were babies.
It is a priceless one-of-a-kind piece filled with the love and stories of she and her family.

Together, forever -

We are connected to our chosen family.
Maya (and her beautiful family of boys!) are moving to Manhattan.
She is embracing the challenge that life has presented in the form of a much deserved promotion. She and Mike are uprooting their bodies and their things from their well rooted San Francisco lives and rebooting across the country in NYC.
Oye - says the friend.
Oye with a capital, well rounded, “O”.
That O, that no matter, if you want it to or not, it will keep on spinning.
Oh, I love my friend Maya so.
Maya who has been in all of my weddings.
Maya who sat with me on my one way ticket plane ride to NYC when I took the plunge and moved there in ‘99.
Maya who was the voice on the phone when I was in the hospital in Amsterdam, caring for a fallen friend, asking what she could do from across the globe - and doing it.
And for all the other spinning reasons we know.
The best part - we WILL see each other just as much or more when she is in NYC.
And the best best part - we will be cOnnected fOrever.

And look!
Here she is with her new Bucket Bag and Pouch Purse Combo.
The perfect accessory for the fabulous working mom on the go in Manhattan!

Maya’s Bucket is made from one of her all time fav light blue leather tea coats that got much play in her fabulous 90’s life + the black silk pants she wore (I think …) to the 02’ Webbies ++ a panel of my mom’s Armani tweed thrown in (The Congresswoman loves her Maya Papaya!) +++ the inside is lined with the sling I used to carry JakeEddie when he was a baby.

Madame Papaya,
Thank you for being my East, as I will always be your North.

What is really important?

Taking care of yourself, your family, those around you and the world at large.
Hard to do when you do it all.
My mom is Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey and she is a grand example of doing it all. As a member in the House of Representatives for 18, going on 20 years she has balanced her seemingly unending stores of energy on fighting for what in her heart she believes is best. Not always a perfect or recognized journey but she is on it.
As a working mother - starting in 1968 - she managed to build businesses, lead activist movements, political campaigns and raise 4 crazy kids. She understands the need for balance.
In Congress she is the lead proponent for support for working families. The reality of what it takes to make it all work is a filter for her when she votes on or creates bills and amendments.

Her Balancing Act is a bill that when passed will create much needed federal and financial support for working families.
I am a working family and I need support. My brothers and their kids, my family and I, we all love and appreciate all that our fabulous mother and grandmother is doing to help us and you.

Thank you Amma! and you look great in your Couver

When asked my New Years ressy - without hesitation and without thinking (same thing?) - I said:
To believe in the fabulous.

Fabulous is showing up at a holiday party and having a rocking Revigor shirt walk through the door!

Fabulous is creating unexpected joy for those who you adore.

And …Fabulous is cutting off the top of a polyester 60s cocktail dress and turning it into the perfect New Years eve skirt.
More then anything - believing in fabulous means believing in love and magic and potential and hope.
To all of that and more - for you and yours, for me and mine and for Revigor!
